Company research

Borealis Exploration Limited (OTC: BOREF) is a Gibraltar-headquartered holding company originally incorporated in Canada in 1968, which has evolved from a technology development firm into a virtual business primarily engaged in loan interest accrual. The company previously developed and held interests in a portfolio of innovative technologies, including WheelTug (an aircraft electric drive system), Chorus Meshcon (an electric motor/drive), Cool Chips, Power Chips, and Avto Metals, before selling its share assets — including shareholdings controlling WheelTug plc and Chorus Motors plc — to Borealis Holdings Ltd in October 2019. Under the terms of that transaction, each BOREF share may be exchanged on a one-for-one basis for shares in Borealis Holdings Ltd, with any unexchanged shares eligible for redemption at US$10 per share plus 2% annual interest before September 27, 2029. With a micro-cap market capitalization of approximately $9.9 million and only two full-time employees, Borealis Exploration continues to trade on the OTC markets while its operational footprint remains minimal.
