The iShares U.S. Utilities ETF (IDU) is an exchange-traded fund launched and managed by BlackRock Fund Advisors, designed to track the investment results of the Russell 1000 Utilities RIC 22.5/45 Capped Index, which measures the performance of the utilities sector of the U.S. equity market. Listed on NYSE Arca since June 12, 2000, the fund employs a representative sampling strategy, investing at least 80% of its assets in component securities spanning electric, gas, water, and multi-utility companies, with top holdings including NextEra Energy, Southern Company, and Duke Energy. With approximately $1.4 billion in assets under management, a net expense ratio of 0.38%, and a quarterly dividend distribution yield of approximately 2.21%, IDU offers investors a cost-efficient, diversified exposure to large- and mid-cap U.S. utility equities.
